Cast iron base and upright. Adjusts in length at 2 points: 3 preset holes in the section that slides into the cast iron pole; a 'locking' scew at the top end of the mid-section which clamps down on the surface of the top section. The head is pivoting and can be locked in position. The best quality materials and likely to have been Italian designed and made. Circa 1970. An important light which we will try to research further.
